80′s  hardcore was a peculiar ear tease, with short and fast songs of about 1 to 1.5 minutes, with the presence of socially inspired lyrics. This phase of hardcore often ended with when bands’ broke up or simply to switched to different musical styles.

Some bands including Earth Crisis, All Out War, strife, followed the old school of hardcore, with its combination of slow music and metal melodies, creating a new school of hardcore.

Others, like Husker Du Beans and Meat Puppets seemed to impose restrictions on “hard” in their music, developing a new style of Grunge and emotion, respectively. The  characteristics of emotional performances, smooth and melodic backup vocals, minor chord infusion and the typical anti-social onstage behavior added to the appeal of this new form of Hardcore.

As time passed, the development of hardcore influenced faster hardcore styles, such as the Fast-Core also known as  Thrash-Core, Core or just Thrash. Thus aBigpart of modern hard rock substitute music came from hardcore. The old school Hardcore music is still instrumental in the development of many of today’s Indie bands and more popular musical trends.
